Earlier this year our Uncle Rob and Aunty Sadie had a baby daughter. Cousin Sienna was born 4 weeks early weighing a tiny 3 pounds. As Sienna was so little, she was admitted to the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at The Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford. After 5 days in hospital Sadie was discharged without Sienna, who needed to stay in SCBU a while longer until she was strong enough to go home.

The support, care and love that the family were shown by all the nurses and volunteers during their time in SCBU was truly amazing. This is why we decided to support the Royal Surrey Hospital #ClosertoCare campaign, which aims to transform care for babies who are treated in SCBU. As is the case with many neonatal units around the country, parents with babies being treated in SCBU cannot currently stay overnight, due to limited space. It needs to raise £500,000 to redevelop SCBU, so that parents can stay, next to their babies’ cots – putting them at the heart of their babies’ care and giving vulnerable newborns the very best start in life.

Therefore, on Saturday 12th October 2019, we'll be taking part in the epic 8 hour long spin marathon at the fabulous CYC:D Fitness Studio in Haslemere (https://cyc-d.co.uk/). The rules are that we can only leave the bike for loo breaks and when our relay team mates take over.

Please sponsor us to support this amazing campaign which will make such a huge difference.
