8-year-old Alfie's 212 mile London to Paris Cycle Ride in support of Royal Surrey County Hospital Charity Covid-19 Appeal

Distance travelled - 237.56 miles throughout May smashing the target by a marathon 26 miles.

The challenge

Hi, my name is Alfie and I have just turned 8 yrs old.

My headmaster has recently been discussing some subjects in our online assembly's that involve coming out of our comfort zone and to think who our heroes are and those that inspire us.

For me my hero is my Dad who is a Paramedic working frontline for the NHS during this pandemic but for now I'm happy sharing him with others who also desperately need his help at this devastating time.

We also talked about Captain Tom who at 100 has been a true ambassador for the country in his fundraising actions and service history.

It is because of this and the continued stories I have heard about all the hard working people keeping us safe that I decided to set myself a challenge that I could donate something to the NHS but specifically The Royal Surrey County Hospital who my Dad works for.

I love riding my bike and keeping active so Mum & Dad agreed to pay me 50p per mile I rode in the month of May to donate to the NHS, however in just 6 days I have already covered over 40 miles in my daily exercise as I got bored with Joe Wicks. (Bad luck Mum & Dad I'm clocking up the miles).

This got me thinking 🤔 How far could I ride in a month??

After looking at a map. My aim is to ride the distance from London to Paris as the crow flies. Specifically Parliament Square in London to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. This is a total of 211.438 miles.

Anyone who would like to sponsor me it would be greatly appreciated. I am regularly updating my Facebook and Instagram pages with progress and photos, so please give me a follow there.

Thank You and Wish Me Luck.
