Get involved Give Christmas Shoebox Appeal UPDATE: Pledge a Present 2020 is here Help spread some festive cheer... Sadly due to Covid-19, we're not able to accept donations of shoeboxes this year. The good news is that while we need to do things a bit differently, we are still working hard to ensure those in hospital at Christmas aren't forgotten...and you can help make this happen. By making a donation of £20 or an amount of your choice today, you can help make sure every adult patient in hospital over the Christmas period receives a gift to help brighten their day. Donate now > Here's how it works 1. You donate Make a donation to our Pledge a Present Appeal, which could buy a virtual gift for a patient. You can also donate over the phone by calling 01483 464146 or by sending a cheque to: Royal Surrey Charity, Egerton Road, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 7XX. Please make cheques payable to RSCH Charity – Pledge a Present. 2. We deliver a gift We will then create a shoebox filled with useful gifts for each adult patient in hospital this Christmas, following strict infection control procedures, and deliver these to wards. The gifts will then be safely distributed over the Christmas period by our amazing NHS staff. Each gift box will contain: Something to wear, such as gloves, scarf or a pair of socks Something to eat, such as chocolates, a packet of biscuits or sweets Something to do, such as a puzzle book or pack of cards Toiletries such as shower gel or hand cream A small gift, such as a cotton handkerchief, a nail varnish or a cracker. Here's how your donation could help* £20 could buy a gift box for one patient £60 could fund three shoeboxes for those spending Christmas away from loved ones £120 could buy gifts for a whole room of patients on a ward. * If we raise more than is needed for the appeal, we will put your donation towards the area of greatest need within the hospital.
